Why MadeBig is sooo much better than Gamehouse
10.13.08 (1:19 pm)   [edit]

What the heck is going on with gamehouse.com??? I just want to PLAY games - not download them! And I don't really care about screenshots; I want to know what the game is about and how to play. Who really cares about what it looks like? I'll decide if I like it when I play AND I should be able to play whenever I want. None of this downloading or paying. It's ridiculous - I have to download a game to play it but the time limit doesn't even let me finish the game (or sometimes even get far enough into it to decide if I like it or not). And what happens when I have to step away from the computer? The download "timer" keeps going unless I shut down the game completely...so it's acting like I'm playing and using up the allotted time when I'm really not. Extremely ANNOYING!!

And I get all excited when I go to the homepage and see all these popular games and staff recommended picks. All of them sound like games I'd like to check out, so I click on them and guess what??? You have to PAY to play. Or you know, just download a super short time span of game to play. EVERY SINGLE FEATURED GAME ON THE HOMEPAGE is like that. Every one.

And this is why MadeBig is so much better than those other gaming sites (including Gamehouse) out there - EVERY GAME is FREE ! All of them. AND you get unlimited play. For FREE. You don't even have to be a member to play (although I would highly recommend joining because you get to keep the MB Coins you earn when you play). You should definitely check it out on madebig.com.

Puzzles on Shockwave vs MadeBig
10.01.08 (9:52 am)   [edit]

Completing jigsaw puzzles reminds me of family game nights. In my family, it was started out as a way to have fun but eventually we all got so frustrated with puzzle and each other that it was practically impossible to complete one together. Thankfully, my enjoyment of jigsaw puzzles wasn't dampened by this; instead, it made me want to do more puzzles - after all, I like the challenge.

I play on shockwave frequently but I have found that their jigsaw puzzles are seriously lacking. I mean, it's a "daily" puzzle. The puzzle doesn't change! So if I wanted to play more puzzles in a day, I would have to search through the calendar to find puzzles from another day. Honestly, with all the effort I'm putting into completing the puzzle, I don't feel like having to exert anything else to FIND the darn puzzle to start with!

So I decided to check out the jigsaw puzzles on MadeBig and they did not disappoint! Not only do the puzzles change each time you play, you can try an easy or medium skill version. Like shockwave, the games are free to play here but I would definitely rate the puzzles on madebig.com higher than shockwave because of the variety.

Are you up for the challenge? The GAME challenge?
09.26.08 (2:43 pm)   [edit]

The game challenges on MadeBig were launched recently and I'm definitely a fan! I mean, I like leaderboards and all but it's not quite the same as a one-on-one competition. After all, I like to stay on the top of my game but it's easier for me to do when I know exactly what I have to beat.

So I am trying to find a game that 1. I'm good at and 2. that other people like (that way I will have PLENTY of people to choose from to challenge). Hanging out on Gamershood, I think I found my answer - Mahjongg. I'm pretty close at perfecting my skills, so watch out! You may see a challenge from me soon!

Richi Roane and MadeBig
08.08.08 (3:33 pm)   [edit]
I had heard about Richi Roane at a gaming convention and he was talking about how his site, www.madebig.com, is THE place to go for cool online games. Now I play a LOT of online games, so MadeBig better have something pretty cool to impress me. Richi seemed to get that, so when he started talking about this new feature on the site dealing with challenges, I was pretty intrigued. I decided to keep my eye on http://www.madebig.com to see what develops.
